Portrait of a Student: This photo I took of Sophia was for the Portrait Slideshow project. I decided to do my project on Sophia because she is a softball player, student, fast food worker,k etc. This photo turned out nice because the hallway and such seem to be very dark, and Sophia is well illuminated and looks in the light.
Aperture: f/5.6 Shutter Speed: 1/60s ISO: 400 Focal Length: 51mm |
Slow Shutter Speed: When taking this photo, I had my friend stand in one spot, with the camera I zoomed in and them zoomed out, slowly. Doing that with the 10 second Shutter Speed creating a nice effect. I really liked how the Nike logo from his shirt was just popping out and looks to be in a 3D form. I really like this style of photo and how I made it turn out.
Aperture: f/16 Shutter Speed: 10s ISO: 100 Focal Length: 22mm |
HDR: I really liked this style of photo. It adds more to the photo. With HDR you get more of the shadows, more quality, more brightness, basically everything you would if you had a straight HD photo. To make this we took a photo, and on that photo changed the Exposure to -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, and combined all 5 of those photos. This turned out extremely nice and a quality HD photo.
Aperture: f/5 Shutter Speed: 1/125s ISO: 100 Focal Length: 74mm |
Photo Series Picture: When I heard we were doing a photo series and needed 5 photo's to throw it all together, I instantly thought of my shoes. I have enough shoes to have well over 5 photos connecting to the 500 word essay, so whenever I would wear a different pair of shoes to school, I would take a picture of them, and they looked really nice with the pants and editing I did.
Aperture: f/3.5 Shutter Speed: 1/4s ISO: 200 Focal Length: 18mm |
Unusual Perspective: This is one of my favorite pictures I have taken. I am really fascinated by sneakers and shoes in general, and take pride in my shoes. I decided to take a picture of my shoes with a watch and some beats to express luxurious items that I enjoy, and the Unusual Perspective of the Image looks really clean and original, and makes the shoes pop with the blurred background and dark gravel flooring.
Aperture: f/4.5 Shutter Speed: 1/800s ISO: 100 Focal Length: 35mm |

Fast Shutter Speed: Fast Shutter Speed is taking a picture of something that is moving and making it look slowed down, or even stopped. When I saw the flags, we had a hard wind so the flags were almost fully straight out, when I took the picture, it came a little blurry so i messed around with the settings and eventually came up with this, and I think it turned out really well.
Aperture: f/5.6 Shutter Speed: 1/2000s ISO: 2500 Focal Length: 135mm |
Texture: When I was walking around looking to make a picture for texture, I stepped on the grass and heard a bunch of crinkling. I looked down and saw the leaves and how they blended brown with the green grass and saw all the texture the leaves had on them, so i decided to snap the picture and it turned out a really nice photo to show texture.
Aperture: f/5 Shutter Speed: 1/200s ISO: 100 Focal Length: 64mm |
Unusual Framing Device: Overall, this photo is really clean. The tire is a nice way to express an unusual framing device because the edges do not have anything coming through, it is just the tire. I decided to center the tree instead of using Rule of Thirds because it makes the tire stand out as a framing device and though it looked much better centered.
Aperture: f/4.5 Shutter Speed: 1/250s ISO: 100 Focal Length: 36mm |
Leading Lines: Leading lines, first thing that came into my mind was the brick walls, whenever you look at the brick walls your eyes flow pretty easy, i decided to make the photo so it blurred when it starts to get toward the middle of the image, then i decided to have some surroundings, not just the wall so i positioned it so you could see the tree, and the leaves on the floor are leading lines in them self as well.
Aperture: f/3.5 Shutter Speed: 1/50s ISO: 100 Focal Length: 21mm |
Rule of Thirds: This photo is the first picture we took in the class, I decided to go for something a bit easy to help myself learn, so I angled my camera so the wolf was on the Rule of Thirds line and it came out really clean, I did a bit of cropping in Photoshop to make it a bit more cleaner and it looked really good!
Aperture: f/5.6 Shutter Speed: 1/30s ISO: 400 Focal Length: 55mm |

Natural Transitions: This was the final video of the class! I thought this was super fun and a great idea! I really like filming, editing and making this video! I am going to incorporate this idea into my videos because I think it looks super nice and very clean transitions instead of always having a dip to black to get to another scene. I thought this video was actually a big help, and I think this video should have been done earlier in the year so that people could add them into there videos, the whole year and overall make there videos a whole lot nicer and better looking! Great video, probably one of my favorite!

Senior Farewell: I did this video with one other partner, as the video was suppose to be a 4 partner project, i think me and my partner did good for only having us to work on this video. The theme was great, get a freshman and senior to see how they liked heritage, and see the difference in there answers and to show all the aspects of Heritage. This was an easy video to record as it was just an interview, and no green screen was needed because we recorded it outside, thought the audio could be better, but the voice recorders were messing up, so i thought this video was successful under the circumstances.

Non-Linear: This video was one of my favorite videos to film. I decided to through this video together at the end of the year instead of getting a 0 on my project I put this together and had it as my Non-Linear. It actually turned out pretty good, because Non-Linear is supposed to be like something happens, and then it flashes back and tells the story so that the beginning makes sense. I did that perfectly in my opinion because I made the beginning a part where me and Daniel read his mind, where people would be like "What?!" "How?!" and then it tells the story on how. I liked this video a lot.

One Light: This was a last second video. I did this video instead of Silent Film, which we had a choice to do. Though I was in a super big rush to get this done and get my grade up for the class, i decided to let the actors talk about any conversation they wanted and decided to wing it. After the video was edited i realized that the language and the use of "gangster" language should not be promoted and not have been used at all, i thought it would represent an actual conversation between friends that some people might joke about and have fun with other people so i decided to use it because it represented a possible funny friendly joke some friends would have on each other.

Green Screen Challenge: This video was turned in a day late because I was absent for awhile and could not record anything. I did this video in 2 days and thought the quality was amazing, and the theme of snapping to change the theme adding a special element to the video, the background of green is completely gone, and thought it look nice and professional with no green shadows, no green anything and the lighting was perfect.
|
|
Animated Logo: I did this type of design because i saw a video in the class where there was a nice ocean and was just waves going by. And thought, everyone likes the chill place of the beach, and when we got the assignment i thought it would be a great idea to have my name on there with the ocean going off in the background and having it come together to all match. I threw in the lightning and flares to add a special little element so they were not so plain, and over all thought my intro was successful with the flow and movements!

Music Video Assignment from Jordan Colaci on Vimeo. |
Music Video: I decided to make this video the way I did because Daniel my partner was not here for a week straight because family situations and other things. I planned the video for me and Daniel to do it, and no one could replace Daniel because we are good friends and the video was suppose to be us. I decided to a Mash-Up type design with my music video by throwing some of my past videos into 1 big video with my song "Sail Dubstep Remix" by AWOLNATION. I thought the video was a success by me not having any time and having my partner gone for a little while. Thanks for watching!

Mash-Up: This video I made was based on World War II and how the Japanese people lived. I did this video like "What if the war never happened?" So I reversed the video on some scenes and threw some scenes with the Japanese people being normal. I was inspired to make this video because I felt that the Japanese interment was very wrong, and they did not deserve it. So this was a video I felt that was a cool contribution to if the war never would have happened, what may have went down, or what would have been normal.

Documentary Assignment from Jordan Colaci on Vimeo. |
Documentary: I planned on interviewing another star in the choir with Daniel, but because school, classes, and projects getting in the way of his work, we had to narrow it down to just one person. This was an interview with "Daniel Del Angel" who has been in choir for 2-3 years and who is a great singer and performer. He explains how he began his singing career and how he came up from the bottom. I was inspired to interview Daniel after I watched one of the Choir's performances.

Voice Over: This assignment Me, Daniel, Brandon, and Dalton decided to go with a mind reading type theme. The Voice Over'd scenes in the video are people's thoughts. Everything in this video is normal audio except the parts where Daniel and I are reading peoples minds. We thought of this idea after watching a few voice over projects. We wanted a scene where the whole class is talking in a voice over scene like we are overloaded with thoughts but It would have been to hard to have everyone record something.

|
Conversation: This project was filmed right after the SanFrancisco 49ers played the Tennessee Titans and the 49ers won. Daniel and I decided to make a video on us talking about the 49ers and how they won. We threw in a little part on the Seattle Seahawks and how they were performing. I thought this video was good and the conversation is realistic and clear.

Multiple Camera Angles: This was the 1st ever project in Video Production 1, I really enjoyed this video and I liked how I learned the camera angles and how they are used/worked. This one was my favorite video I made because it was my first, I could enjoy myself, and have fun making our first ever video. I think the camera angles were very clean and used very professionally and nice. I liked the handshake that me and Daniel went in for and the camera angle where it Cut-In and showed us shaking hands.
